Here's my latest letter, with a few questions to make you think, pause and reflect.... and remember check on your strong friends too, one conversation can change everything.
The Quiet Space to Look Inward
A little bit of introspection can change the way we see ourselves, our choices and the life we’re creating.
I’ve been thinking a lot about introspection lately.
It’s one of those words that can sound quite big and serious, what do you think?
It’s actually very simple. It’s about stopping and taking a breath.
Allowing yourself to look inward for a moment rather than constantly looking outward for all the answers.
Sometimes, when life feels overwhelming, we just keep moving. We react, we make decisions because we feel we have to. We keep doing the things we’ve always done. We say yes, when we really mean no.
We stay somewhere because it’s familiar. We worry about what somebody else might think. Sometimes we are just on autopilot and don’t realise we are doing it.
I’ve come to understand that there is something incredibly powerful about creating a little bit of quiet space and asking yourself:
“What is actually going on for me here?”
Not what should I be feeling. Not what would make somebody else happy
Not what do I think I’m supposed to do. Just…
What is actually going on for me?
Looking for the pattern
One of the things introspections has helped me with is recognising my patterns. A single decision doesn’t always tell us very much.
But when something keeps happening again and again, I think it’s worth getting curious about it.
Maybe you keep ending up exhausted because you’re always putting everybody else first? Perhaps you keep choosing situations where you feel you have to prove your worth?
Do you avoid difficult conversations because conflict makes you uncomfortable? But then find yourself feeling unheard or resentful later.
Are you saying, “It’s fine,” when actually it really isn’t?
I’m not saying this to judge ourselves. Quite the opposite.
I think we can be incredibly hard on ourselves when we notice these things.
But recognising a pattern isn’t about blaming yourself for having it.
It’s about finally being able to see it clearly.
And once you can see something, you have a choice.
You can begin to do something differently.
Sometimes our reactions tell us something
I’ve also started to pay attention to the moments when my reaction feels bigger than the situation itself.
That doesn’t necessarily mean the reaction is wrong.
It may mean something has touched an old wound, a trigger or an old fear, or something that still matters deeply to us.
And I think there is a difference between asking:
“Why am I being like this?”
and asking:
“What is this feeling trying to tell me?”
That second question feels much kinder, doesn’t it?
Maybe I’m frightened. Maybe I feel rejected. Maybe I don’t feel listened to.
Maybe I’m overwhelmed. Maybe I’ve reached my limit. Maybe something that happened today has reminded me of something much older.
We don’t always need to fix the feeling immediately.
Sometimes we just need to listen to it.
Making decisions that feel like you
For me, introspection isn’t about becoming someone who thinks about everything all the time.
Goodness knows, we can already do enough of that!
It’s about creating enough space to make a decision consciously rather than automatically.
Before saying yes, perhaps asking:
Do I actually want to do this?
Before staying somewhere out of habit:
Is this still right for me?
Before taking on another person’s problem:
Is this mine to carry?
Before making a big decision because you’re frightened:
Am I choosing this because it feels right, or because I’m trying to escape how I feel?
And perhaps the biggest one:
“Does this choice feel aligned with the person I am becoming?”
Because we’re allowed to change.
What suited us five years ago might not suit us now.
Something we once tolerated might no longer feel acceptable.
A dream we once had might not be our dream anymore.
And that’s okay.
We don’t have to keep choosing the same things simply because we’ve chosen them before.
Creating a little more space
That’s why this matters so much to me.
Because when life is noisy, it’s very difficult to hear yourself.
There are messages coming at us all day.
Other people’s expectations.
Other people’s opinions.
Our responsibilities.
Our worries.
Our phones.
Our lists.
Our past.
Our future.
And somewhere underneath all of that is us.
Our own voice.
Our own needs.
Our own intuition.
Our own values.
Sometimes we just need to create enough space to hear it.
It doesn’t have to be an hour of meditation.
It might be ten quiet minutes with a cup of tea.
A walk without your phone.
Writing down what’s going around in your head.
Sitting in the car for five minutes before going inside.
Or simply taking a breath and asking yourself:
“What do I need right now?”
And then actually listening to the answer.
A little exercise for you
If you feel like trying this, find somewhere quiet and ask yourself these questions.
Don’t try to give yourself the “right” answers.
Just be honest.
What keeps happening in my life that I don’t seem to understand?
What situations repeatedly leave me feeling drained, anxious or unsettled?
Where do I find myself saying yes when I really want to say no?
What am I carrying that might not actually be mine to carry?
What am I afraid might happen if I make a different choice?
And finally:
If I stopped worrying about what everyone else wanted from me, what would I choose?
You don’t have to answer everything.
You don’t even have to do anything with the answers straight away.
Just notice.
Because sometimes awareness comes before change.
Perhaps that’s the real point
I don’t think introspection is about constantly looking backwards.
It’s about looking inward so that we can move forward with a little more clarity.
To understand ourselves. To recognise our patterns. To make choices that feel more like ours.
To notice when we’re living from fear rather than from what we genuinely value.
And to give ourselves permission to change direction when something no longer feels right.
For me, that’s where calm, clarity and space begin, the three pillars behind all my work.
Not because everything around us suddenly becomes calm.
But because, for a moment, we stop adding to the noise.
We pause.
We listen.
And perhaps, in that quiet moment, we hear ourselves a little more clearly.
Maybe that’s where the next decision begins.
Not with having all the answers.
Just with being brave enough to look within.

Sunscapes August 2026 UPDATE
Photography - Reiki - Decluttering - Space
Creating calm, clarity and space for life.
Sometimes you realise that the things you’ve been keeping separate actually belong together. ❤️
Over the past few months, I’ve realised that Sunscapes Photography and Reiki, Light & Inner Peace aren’t separate worlds at all. They’re all connected by the same thing: creating calm, clarity and space for people to feel more themselves.
Whether I’m behind the camera, helping someone create a calmer, more organised home, working with Reiki, or simply chatting to someone at an event, I love creating spaces and experiences where people can breathe, connect, feel comfortable and just be themselves.
So, rather than continuing to split my time, energy and content across two separate pages, I’m bringing everything together under Sunscapes.
The Reiki, Light & Inner Peace Facebook and Instagram pages will close in September, but the Reiki, Light & Inner Peace website will continue to run while it gradually evolves and is rebranded over the coming months, eventually becoming Sunscapes.
And for all my photography followers, nothing is changing when it comes to the photographs! All photographs will continue to be uploaded to the Sunscapes Pixieset website, where you’ll still be able to find and view all the latest galleries.
Sunscapes will bring together all the things I love: photography, Reiki, decluttering and minimalising, creating beautiful and supportive spaces, helping people explore colours and surroundings that make their homes feel calmer and more spacious, and helping people feel happier and more at home in their own surroundings.
Whether that’s through an image, a change of space, a calmer home or a Reiki session, it all comes back to the same thing — creating calm, clarity and space for life.
One place. One community. One shared purpose.
Calm. Clarity. Space.
I’m really excited to bring it all together. ✨
Manifestation works 🤍April 2026
This week I’ve felt something I don’t think I’ve truly felt in a long time genuine, deep happiness. Honestly, I feel so, so blessed. I’ve been sitting with it, really taking it in, and looking at my life as it is right now. My beautiful son, my wonderful partner and amazing friends, all who support me so very much, I dont take any of it for granted, as for so long living in survival mode was my normal.
Q. When was the last time you actually allowed yourself to fully feel happiness… without waiting for something to go wrong?
When I really stop and think about it, it actually makes me a bit emotional. My birthday fell on the Saturday of the Easter weekend, and being surrounded by so many truly lovely people really hit me. It reminded me how important it is to have the right people around you, that get you and enrich you. People really do come into your life for a reason. Not because life is perfect. But because it finally feels aligned.
Q. Who in your life genuinely feels like peace?
Something else that’s been on my mind is a letter I wrote to myself back in September. A manifestation letter, nothing fancy, just things I hoped for. How I wanted to feel, the kind of life I was trying to build. I folded it up, put it away, and didn’t think much more about it.
I opened it on my birthday… and I just sat there in shock. Five out of the six things I wrote down have actually come true. That completely blew me away.
Q. What if the life you’re dreaming about is already slowly finding its way to you?
And I think it hit even deeper because in 2023 that year did break me — there’s no other way to put it. It was one of the hardest times of my life.
Q. Have you ever realised later that something painful was actually redirecting you?
But now, looking back, I see it differently. As painful as it was, it shaped me. It pushed me to grow, to let go of what wasn’t right for me, and to rebuild in a way that actually feels aligned with who I am.
I feel more grounded, clearer & truer to my beliefs and boundaries. There’s a quiet confidence and energy I didn’t have before. Things are finally flowing instead of feeling so heavy all the time.
Q. What version of yourself are you finally allowing to exist?
I truly believe those difficult moments didn’t happen to me, they happened for me. And without them, I don’t think I’d be able to feel this level of gratitude, peace, and appreciation for what I have today.
Q. What if this chapter was shaping you, not punishing you?
It’s a reminder that even when you’re in the middle of something heavy, something is still unfolding for you. Even if you can’t see it at the time!
Right now, I just feel really thankful. For the people in my life, for the lessons, for how far I’ve come… and for what’s still to come.
Be kind to yourself and remember we are all allowed to have boundaries and you don't have to process it all alone. 🤍
20th February 2026 - The glimmers that taught me to say no.
I didn't learn to say no by becoming harder. I started paying attention to what felt safe.
A glimmer to me is a tiny moment of safety, a beautiful connection and the opposite of a trigger. It doesnt have to be dramatic, the smaller the better in my experience.
When I started intentionally noticing glimmers, I actually began experiencing more of them. I was calmer, more resilient, and happier. Glimmers made me feel safer. I noticed how my nervous system started to settle and I set boundaries without panic.
At last, I'd finally realised that I could feel safe and content without needing the approval of others and everything shifted. The more I noticed glimmers, the less I tolerated what dimmed me. For most of my life, I was scanning for threats, stuck in fight, flight, or fawn. Saying No had felt like rejection, conflict or loss. I started to understand that boundaries dont have to feel like life or death. They can feel normal and grounded.
Saying no feels like alignment now when something feels off. I don't cling, over-explain, or stay longer than I should.
I've taught my nervous system that safety and calm can exist on the other side of walking away. I don't have to stay to keep the peace or endure what feels uncomfortable just to be understood. Instead, I look for what feels good and safe and the less I tolerate what doesnt.
Now instead of feeling unsteady or doubting my truth when I walk into a room, I ask myself, am I safe here? Am I seen correctly or do I have to adjust myself? I can feel the energy shifts, I can sense the change in undercurrents.
Before I used to wobble or over-explain myself, staying longer than felt good and absorbing all the assumptions. But now I feel and recognise what safety feels like in my body, a warmth, ease and steadiness. I recognise now when it's absent so much sooner.
Being sensitive didn't weaken my boundaries. By learning to notice safety, it strengthened them.
I am empathetic, but I don't have to carry what isn't mine. It just means I'm a perceptive person who needs clean lines and clear exits.
I'm not abandoning myself anymore. Sometimes its harder of course. The stakes can feel higher. Guilt can show up or old memories surface. But I am not a child negotiating for belonging anymore, I am not trying to secure love by staying small or agreeable. That may have made sense once, it may have kept me safe. But now I'm and adult.
I can still feel guilt without obeying it, I have a choice now and I choose alignment
The guilt still visits but it doesnt drive anymore!
Old pattern was I would feel guilty and fix it externally. The new pattern, I feel guilty, I soothe myself internally and I still hold my boundaries.
My self reiki & meditation helped me see and feel this clearly.
It has taught my body that I am safe, supported and held even when someone else is uncomfortable.
I used to manage discomfort by managing other people. Now I manage discomfort by tending to myself.
Rather than thinking, what do they need from me, now I feel and think, what is my body telling me? Strengthening my awareness didn't just help me notice beauty within my glimmers, it helped me feel and sense my discomfort. And by trusting this discomfort, it taught me how to protect myself and feel calm inside.
14th February 2026 - Choosing Yourself - Honouring Your Worth
Very appropriate that I chose to post this today.
You are worth it and you can buy your own flowers!
You are worthy of your own time. You are worthy of your own care. You are worthy of being your first choice.
Choosing yourself is not selfish. It's an act of love.
It is saying yes to your heart. It is giving yourself permission to be who you truly are. It is realizing that you are enough just as you are.
Notice the voice within you that says, “Choose me.” Listen to your voice. Trust it.
You are allowed to put yourself first. You are allowed to make space for your joy, your rest & your healing. You are allowed to honor your needs, to set boundaries, and to create a life that supports your well-being.
You are not here to abandon yourself.
You are here to love and nurture your soul. You are your own best friend.
And you are a divine being deserving of your own care.
Choosing yourself will show you the beauty that unfolds when you honor your worth.

1st February 2026 - Feeling Unsettled, not unhappy, not sad but a little bit off?
You’re not imagining it and you’re not “off” either, what you’re actually feeling makes sense.
The Fire Horse year officially begins with Chinese New Year on 17th February. But the pre-wave starts weeks (sometimes months) before. Many sensitive, intuitive people feel it from January, sometimes even late December.
Since the end of December, I’ve wanted quieter times, more space, less stuff, even though my home is already minimal and decluttered.
But I’ve realised this isn’t about decluttering things, it’s about clearing energy. We are in the transition phase right now, a build up to a powerful shift that asks us to let go before we move forward.
Be kind to yourself if you’ve felt tired, emotional, foggy, or have been craving simplicity and stillness. You’re not broken, you are preparing!
I felt like “something’s shifting but I didn’t know what” this is classic pre fire horse energy!
Has anyone else been feeling this way.......?
Fire Horse energy:
• loosens what’s been tightly held • brings truth to the surface • speeds up inner change before outer clarity appears
Before the change arrives, there’s often:
• fatigue & exhaustion • emotional sensitivity • wanting to withdraw • questioning things that used to feel settled
This is the shedding phase, not the charging phase. For empaths and healers, we have been feeling this:
“I need rest but I don’t know why” “I feel disconnected but also on the brink of something”
It’s not wrong, it’s preparation. So instead of pushing yourself, think of this period as winter soil loosening before spring growth and buds begin to flower.
• Rest more than usual • Simplify your days • Eat grounding foods • Reduce noise (news, social media)
Just remember Fire Horse energy is powerful; it favours people who are already listening inwardly. Be kind to yourself, you don’t need to catch up. You’re already in tune.
Over the next few weeks, I’m slowing things down even more. Less doing. Less noise. More space to breathe.
I’ll be keeping my home and my energy simple, clearing little and often. Resting when my body asks, and letting Reiki support me rather than trying to power through.
If you’re feeling something similar, this is your permission to be gentle with yourself too.
It’s about trusting that this phase has a purpose. When energy is shifting, forcing clarity too soon only creates resistance. I’m allowing the pause… knowing clarity will come when it’s ready.
Here’s some ideas to help prepare your home so that the energy flows instead of it feeling chaotic. Your space will be ready and grounded in a calm way.
1. Clear before you call in
Fire Horse hates stagnation.
In your home, focus on:
•Entryway – remove anything you trip over or avoid dealing with
•Surfaces – clear piles (especially papers, “I’ll do this later” items)
•Broken or unused items – if it doesn’t work, fit, or feel right, thank it and let it go
Ask as you declutter: “Would I want to carry this into a faster, freer season of life?”
2. Create space for movement
This energy wants motion and momentum.
•Open up walkways (especially between rooms)
•Pull furniture slightly away from walls so energy can circulate
•If a room feels heavy, remove one thing — not everything
Think flow, not minimalism for the sake of it.
3. Balance the fire (this part matters)
Fire Horse energy can feel exciting… but also overwhelming if unbalanced.
To ground it, bring in:
•Earth tones (cream, beige, soft gold — your natural palette)
•Natural textures: wood, stone, linen, cotton
•A bowl of pebbles, a plant, or a grounding crystal near where you sit most
This keeps the fire creative instead of exhausting.
4. Refresh the heart of the home
Kitchen or living room = emotional centre.
Do one simple reset:
•Clean the fridge or cupboards
•Replace a tired tea towel, cushion, or candle
•Add something that makes you pause and breathe
Small shifts signal new energy is welcome here.
5. Set gentle energetic boundaries
Fire Horse energy exposes truth. Your home should feel like a safe space for you.
•Clear your bedroom especially — no emotional clutter, no doom piles
•Remove items tied to old versions of you
•Light a candle and set an intention like:
Only energy that supports clarity, courage, and peace is welcome in this space
6. Let intuition lead (very important)
If one area of your home keeps pulling your attention — that’s where the work is.
Don’t overthink it.
Fire Horse energy responds to decisive, intuitive action, not perfection.
Thank you for reading, Be kind to yourself and take things gently. If you feel you would like any support I’m here.
